Livian Yeh Interview
How did you become a writer?
I’ve always been interested in storytelling, but I became a writer through lots and lots of trial and error. And tears.
What inspires you to write?
The complexity of people and their behaviors. Also, I love a good love story.
How do you develop your plot and characters?
I try to let my characters drive the plot, but Bryn Donovan’s notecard plotting method has been lifechanging.
Could you share some of your challenges as a writer?
I definitely struggle with patience and confidence.
Tell me about your protagonist. What's your favorite trait and/or weakness?
My protagonist is a diversity trainer, and my favorite trait of her is her empathy. Least favorite trait is what a pushover she can be.
What are your current/future projects?
A romance novel about dumplings and making my off-Broadway debut as a playwright.
Do you have a routine you follow when writing?
I have a day job so I write whenever I can! And prioritizing rest really helps.
